Florence Street shooting occurred as 3 suspects left armed robbery scene: London police
London police say a shooting in the area of Florence Street and Kellogg Lane began as an armed robbery and a total of four suspects are involved.
Initially, police said that a citizen reported hearing gunshots at roughly 1:15 a.m. Monday and that emergency crews found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the area of Florence Street and Kellogg Lane. He was treated and released from hospital.
On Tuesday, police announced that a 39-year-old man faced several charges though none of them appeared to be directly related to the shooting. Craig Bradley Chapman, of London, was charged with four weapons charges related to possessing and carrying a firearm, as well as charges related to resisting arrest, assaulting an officer, and drug possession.
On Friday, police announced that Chapman now faces additional charges of aggravated assault and discharging a firearm with intent.
Police also released more information about the circumstances surrounding Monday’s shooting.
According to the investigation, police say three males went to a residence armed with weapons including a firearm, knives and a baseball bat and robbed the occupants of personal belongings.
As the suspects left, police say a number of shots were fired, which struck one of the three male suspects, who was treated in hospital and released.
Johnny Grebenchan, 28, of London has also been charged in the case, with robbery with a firearm and breach of recognizance.
Police say the investigation is ongoing, including “the identities of the other two males involved in the robbery.”
