Five more minutes! Snoozing orangutan dragged away by his unimpressed mother – while tourists watch young panda trying to escape Beijing Zoo

Someone’s not apey! And that’s mischievous five-year-old orangutan Berani…

…who was enjoying a nap at the zoo when mum Sari decided to wake him up…

…and take him home even though he clearly wasn’t terribly keen on the idea…

…but Sari, 18, was having none of her offspring’s nonsense and showed him who’s boss at Belgium’s Pairi Daiza Zoo. No doubt she scolded him: ‘Don’t you ever do-oo-oo that again.’

Meanwhile, there was ‘panda-monium’ at Beijing Zoo this week as a young male tried to escape his enclosure

The cheeky chap, Menglan, scaled his compound wall . . .

. . . and a high fence, sparking panic among zoo visitors.

Menglan was filmed as he made his bid for freedom . . .

. . . and his great escape lasted a whole four hours until keepers lured him back to his enclosure with a tasty meal
