Fish with ‘one in a million’ condition making it all white pulled from icy lake
A strange-looking fish has been fished out of an icy lake after initially appearing frozen.
Photos of the chain pickerel reeled in by Caden Hurley at Sabin Pond in Woodbury, Vermont, went viral on social media after observers noticed the lack of pigmentation on the fish.
The odd colouration of the fish made it look like it had been kept in a frozen cooler but the truth soon came out.

Vermont Fish and Wildlife confirmed that while the fish is healthy, it has a condition called Leucism, affecting its colour.
In a Facebook post, officials of the organisation wrote: "Leucism is a pigment condition that affects some of an animal's cells, resulting in pale colour that may be patchy or nearly complete across the body."
The post explained further on how the condition affects the fish, stating that the marine animal had normal-coloured eyes for its species and confirming that it indeed has Leucism.
"It doesn't happen often in fish, so this is a very special catch," VFW added.

The discovery of the Leucism-effected fish was not the only unearthing of marine creatures in recent days after more than 100 Portuguese man-o-wars washed ashore a beach.
The venomous creatures were found scattered across the Indialantic Beach in Brevard County, Florida, by locals, with one resident saying there had to be "at least 100".
"Every couple of feet you walked there were bunches of five to 10. From what my boyfriend and I saw, there had to be at least 100”, Victoria said.
