A fatal collision at Highway 401 near Highway 8 has forced the westbound lanes of the 401 to be closed in the Waterloo region.

OPP said the collision happened between a transport truck and a passenger vehicle in the offramp.

The 401 westbound is closed at Highway 24.

Police say there are also major delays on the 401 Eastbound due to the visual distraction.

Cambridge OPP are investigating the incident.
