Fans fuming as vandals spray paint ‘paedo’ on wall outside Queen’s home
Royal fans have been left angry after graffiti was found at one of the Queen's homes by an unknown vandal who wrote "paedo home" on the side of a wall outside.
The outer walls of the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh were pictured with defamatory, spray-painted remarks, The Mirror reported.
One snapshot showed "paedo home" sprayed in large white lettering along one wall, and another image showed the words "burn Tory scum" written along the same wall in a similar style.
Both images picture the palace in the background of the graffiti-strewn walls.
The graffiti comes just a few days after a US court ruled that Virgina Giuffre, who claims Prince Andrew abused her when she was 17, could pursue legal action against him in a civil case.
Prince Andrew has strongly denied the allegations.
An official statement from Buckingham Palace recently said the Duke of York would have his military titles and royal patronages rescinded, with the Queen reclaiming the titles.
Glasgow law student, Rory Richmond, posted a photo on Twitter of the graffiti outside the palace, writing: "This was photographed at Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh earlier today.
"We must condemn and confront the mindless act of vandalism and hatred."
The tweet received over 200 likes and has received dozens of retweets and replies.
Some were outraged by the graffiti, with one writing: "Appalling vandalism. There are no excuses for it at all, it's criminality whether or not it suits your political party or choice.
Another was not convinced by the impending police investigation, adding: "Not sure they need an investigation. Just clean it off."
In a statement from Police Scotland, they said: "Police received report of vandalism on an external wall at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh which happened between 4pm on Satuday, 15 January and 8am on Sunday.
"Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information should contact police via 101, quoting incident number 1071 of 16 January".

Prince Andrew was stripped of military titles and royal patronages just 24 hours after being told he must face a civil trial.
He will no longer use the title of His Royal Highness in any official capacity, as well as having to face the upcoming trial as an ordinary citizen.
The decision was made after hours of deliberation and has reportedly stunned the Prince, who is said to have been unaware of plans and is, sources say, "shell-shocked" at the move.
