AN abusive 'girlfriend from hell' who was jailed for subjecting her ex to a cruelty campaign has got engaged to a new man.

Jordan Worth, 26, was put behind bars five years ago for abusing her former partner Alex Skeel.

Dad-of-two Alex bravely documented the physical and mental abuse the BBC show Abused By My Girlfriend and told how Worth attacked him with knives and hammers, and scolded him with boiling water.

She also broke his phone and didn't allow him to contact his family and friends, sending them abusive messages from his phone to alienate him from society.

When neighbour's enquired about his injuries, Alex said he had inflicted them on himself – until a policeman eventually got him to tell the truth about the abuse, which had left him with open, infected wounds and weighing just seven stone.

Worth was sentenced to seven and a half years behind bars in 2018 after admitting controlling or coercive behaviour, wounding with intent and causing grievous bodily harm.

Now having served only part of her sentence The Sun can reveal she is engaged to bricklayer Adam Steff, 28, with the pair sharing gushing messages online.

Pals have now warned new fiance Adam, of Flitton, Beds, about dating the former University of Hertfordshire student Worth.

Steff declined to comment on the relationship when approached by The Sun. 

One friend shared a link to the BBC documentary about Worth, also writing on his profile: “We will look for signs of weight loss and marks of abuse on your skin. Don't date the psychopath.”

But the brickie has ignored pals’ pleas, sharing a photo of a beach walk with Worth, with the pair exchanging heart emojis in the comments.

Horrific details of Worth’s previous abuse came to light in the BBC doc – including making Alex sleep on the floor for nine months. But Worth was the first girlfriend Alex had ever had.

He told The Sun in 2018: “I suppose I thought to myself this was how relationships were, but I know now it wasn’t normal.”

Even when worried neighbours called police, the then 22-year-old Alex pretended his injuries were self-inflicted.

He was taken to hospital with burns to his arms and legs, which he had tried to treat by wrapping in cling film.

Medics found further burns and stab wounds, but still Alex returned to the house he shared with Worth in Stewartby, Beds.

Finally, days later, a police officer persuaded him to tell the horrific truth.

Alex said: “He saved my life. He sat me down in his patrol car and said, ‘Look, I know what’s going on.

These wounds were not committed by you. Just tell me the truth’.”

Steff had his own brush with the law in 2013 – after stealing an endangered tortoise worth £2,000 from a safari park and selling it on Facebook for £30.

He took Flo, a 4.5lb juvenile Aldabra giant tortoise, from Woburn Safari Park in Milton Keynes after he wandered into her enclosure while drunk.

The 18-year-old accepted an offer of just £30 for the tortoise – a specimen of one of the world's rarest species.

Help for victims of male domestic abuse

If a victim is in immediate danger, they should call 999 and alert the authorities of the abuse.

Otherwise, men can talk to the police, their GP, a local hospital or a specialist helpline such as ManKind Initiative to get help leaving the relationship.

Keeping documents and logs in a diary which details the abuse in a safe place could later help tell others of the abuse.

Police arrested Steff after matching his DNA to saliva on a Foster's beer can left at the scene. He later admitted burglary of a non-dwelling and was ordered to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work. He was also given a curfew from 7pm to 7am, to last two months.

Magistrates told him: “It's a serious matter and from what we have heard you were very fortunate there were not more serious consequences.

“It was a very stupid thing to do wasn't it and you have had time to reflect on the matter.”
