King Charles III last night kept his composure to pay a heartfelt tribute to his "darling Mama" the Queen, but choked back tears as he asked: "Am I done?"
Behind the scenes footage released in the aftermath of His Majesty's historic speech to the nation show the visibly emotional Monarch asking the camera crew if he'd completed his duty.
The brief, tender moment – released by The Royal Family's social media pages – was captured as the cameras stopped rolling after the King's first address to the country last night.

In his first address as monarch, he expressed his "sorrow" for his "beloved" mother's death as he renewed his promise of life-long service.
And in a sign he is trying to mend family rifts, he expressed his "love" for Prince Harry and wife Meghan as they "build their lives overseas".
But within seconds of concluding the recording of his first speech as sovereign, the full emotion he has been grappling with in recent days became visible on his face.
Sky News producer James Briggs shared the clip on Twitter, saying: "This behind-the-scenes video has been released by the Royal Family Channel and it’s clear to see the emotion in Prince Charles after recording his speech.

"When the King says 'am I done' it’s hard for even the most hardened of people to not find sad."
And social media users were quick to praise the newly-appointed sovereign.
One said: "Whilst watching King Charles walk through the streets of London today holding peoples hands, and then giving what is probably one of the great speeches to unify the nation…last night his mom died. God save the king."
Another replied: "This must be so difficult for all of them imagine suffering such a personal loss and having to carry on with the day job."
A third Twitter user replied: "I was thinking the same thing when he was speaking …imagine having to face all these strangers on one of the most difficult days a person has to face, and to do it with grace and strength. Huge burden to carry."
In the emotional nine-minute address, the tearful King, 73, offered his "sincere and heartfelt thanks" for condolences from well-wishers around the globe.

He also confirmed William now becomes the Prince of Wales and takes on the responsibilities for the Duchy of Cornwall.
And he vowed: "Whatever may be your background or beliefs, I shall endeavour to serve you with loyalty, respect and love as I have throughout my life."
Quoting Hamlet, he added: "May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest."
