THE US Secret Service investigated rapper Eminem about his lyrics criticising Donald Trump and apparently "threatening" Ivanka, newly released docs show.

In the song Framed from the 2017 album Revival, the rapper sang about discovering Ivanka in the boot of his car, sparking outrage at the time.

Buzzfeed first broke the news of the Secret Service's investigation into this lyrics following a Freedom of Information Act request it had filed in 2018 to find out if agents had been sent to interview the rapper.

The roughly 40 pages of documents that were turned over to website stated that the agency had interview the Real Slim Shady rapper because of the "threatening lyrics" in Framed.

On the track, the rapper, whose real name is Marshall Bruce Mathers, declared: "Donald Duck's on, there's a Tonka Truck in the yard / But dog, how the f**k is Ivanka Trump in the trunk of my car?

The song later goes on: "…'cause I feel somewhat responsible for the dumb little blonde Girl / That m********in ' baton twirler that got dumped in the pond, second murder with no recollection of it…”

According documents received by Buzzfeed, on December 15, 2017, the day of Revival's release, a complaint was made that Framed featured "an inappropriate comment towards President Trump and a threatening comment towards Ivanka Trump."

That complaint came from a "concerned citizen," who turned out to be an employee of TMZ, the documents showed.

The note was sent to the Secret Service with a link to an article about the song.

Hours before that request was made, TMZ published an story about Eminen's criticism of the president, and it appeared from the documents that the website was seeking comment from the Secret Service about the lyrics.
No correspondences from other individuals about the song were shown in the heavily-redacted documents.

They did however note: “This is not the first time MATHERS made threatening comments towards POTUS and his family.

"In June 2017, MATHERS freestyled comments that were threatening in nature towards POTUS.”

As background evidence, the documents also cited a December 2017 interview Mathers had carried out with the website Vulture, where he claimed Trump "makes my blood boil."

On the album Kamikaze, Eminem's 2018 follow-up to Revival, the rapper's title track, The Ringer, hinted that Slim Shady had been investigate for his previous comments.

The lyrics go: "Cause Agent Orange just sent the Secret Service / To meet in person to see if I really think of hurtin’ him.

"Or ask if I’m linked to terrorists / I said, ‘Only when it comes to ink and lyricists."

The documents – which refer to the rapper as Marshall Mather throughout – showed that Eminem and his legal team met for an interview on January 16, 2018.

The two-page summary of this interview was redacted from the documents, but it did mention that the discussion centered around lyrics in Framed and Like Home, another song off the Revival album.

There was also a section in the report that listed aliases, Eminem and Slim Shady.

Two days after the meeting, the interview was discussed at a Secret Service meeting and it was determined that case would be "NON-REFERRED” to a federal prosecutor, the documents say.
