Drogheda bomb scare: Army disposal team dispatched to Irish estate – mass evacuation

The Irish army has sent a bomb disposal team to Moneymore housing estate. The estate scare in Drogheda, county Louth has seen a number of homes evacuated. Local police have cordoned off the estate building following the discovery of an unknown device.
The device was found placed on a gas box in an alleyway next to the Moneymore estate.
A Garda spokesperson told the Irish Independent forces have been deployed to the area.
They said: “Gardai are at an incident in the Moneymore estate where a device has been located.
“The army Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit has been called in and the area has been sealed off”
