DRC's new opposition leader strives to unite party

Felix Tshisekedi called on the opposition party to hold its first public rally in two years, in an attempt to show his ability to unite a fractured opposition.

    Democratic Republic of Congo’s main opposition party has held its first public rally in Kinshasa in two years. 

    It was called by new leader Felix Tshisekedi and is seen as an attempt to show his ability to unite a fractured opposition.

    Elections are scheduled for December, but many fear the country will not see a free and fair ballot.
