Donald Trump Jr makes barnstorming appearance on The View as security are called in and Whoopi Goldberg scolds audience – The Sun
DONALD Trump Jr. made a barnstorming appearance on The View on Thursday, as security were called and Whoopi Goldberg was required to scold the audience.
The president's son was visiting the show to promote his new book, but once taping began things got a little out of hand.
According to reports, Trump Jr. opted to fill his delegation of seats in an audience with several millionaire MAGA backers – but this move did not go according to plan.
Many of Trump's guests, who had been let onto the set of the predominantly left-leaning show early, refused to sit next to each other, reports claim, forcing security to be called and the individuals to be asked to sit in their designated seats.
A show source told the New York Post: “When we were loading in the rest of the audience, they wouldn’t stay in their seats and security had to assist so we could load in the rest of the audience.
“At that point, the people who didn’t want to sit together had already been divided and given seats on the other side of the audience.”
Then, once the show had begun, audience members began booing Trump Jr. as he made comments about European Union Ambassador Gordon Sondland’s testimony to the ongoing House impeachment inquiry.
This forced host Goldberg to say to the audience, on air, "Children, children, children, children, children, stop yourselves.”
During the break, the co-host then reportedly gave the audience another talking to, asking them to stop booing as it impacts the flow of the show.
Trump Jr. was making the appearance along with his girlfriend, Kimberly Guilfoyle, and in another incident, security were again called when one of his guests was seen using their phone during the taping, reports claim.
During the show itself, the 41-year-old also went on the offensive – particularly when co-host Joy Behar reeled off a list of mishaps and controversies surrounding Trump Jr.'s father, President Donald Trump.
In response, Trump Jr. said that "we've all done things we regret," before bringing up examples tied to Goldberg and Behar themselves.
Trump Jr. accused Behar of using "blackface" and said that Goldberg's past comments have diminished the seriousness of director Roman Polanski's sexual assault on a minor.
Goldberg replied: "Now that you’ve broken this piece of ice, because I guess it is the fight you wanted…. Are you questioning my character?”
Trump Jr. responded: "I’m not questioning your character. I’m talking about, you’re questioning my father’s character and I say we all have done and said things."
The book Trump Jr. is promoting is called “Triggered: How The Left Thrives On Hate And Wants To Silence Us.”
As Trump Jr. was announced on the show, Behar made reference to his guest list, saying: "All his fans are in the front."
Trump Jr. responded: "We got 10 seats out of 150 so we figured we had to stack the deck a little bit."
