Former President Donald Trump, 75, has met with Nigel Farage, 57, in Florida for a “world exclusive” interview set to air tomorrow night on GB News. The former UKIP and Brexit Party leader confirmed he was in the so-called ‘Sunshine State’ to interview Mr Trump on social media.

Writing on Twitter, Mr Farage revealed: “I’m in Florida to interview Donald Trump, it will broadcast tomorrow – only on GB News.

“Nothing is off limits.

“You don’t want to miss this one!”

During their discussion, the ex-MEP asked the 45th US President about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Boris Johnson, Capitol Hill, climate change and if he will run for President in 2024.

Mr Trump, who was a billionaire businessman before entering politics, became the first Commander-in-Chief since George HW Bush to miss out on serving a full eight-year stint in the White House after he was defeated by ex-Vice President Joe Biden, 79, by seven million votes in 2020.

In a clip from the interview uploaded on GB News’ Twitter account, the ex-POTUS was asked by Mr Farage why he would consider going back into the “absolute hell” of frontline politics.

Mr Trump responded: “If you love the country you have no choice.”

He added: “It’s not a question, this is a wonderful beautiful life, but I like that too because I was helping people, that’s why I did it.

“And I think you’ll be happy in the future.”

Speaking after the interview, Mr Farage said: “Well I think that’s the clearest indication we’ve yet had that Trump fully intends to run in 2024.”

The former President has flirted with the idea of running for the White House for a third time since he was booted out of office in January 2021.

Mr Trump, who shocked the world by defeating former First Lady Hillary Clinton, 74, by 306 electoral college votes to 232 in 2016, has edged ahead of President Biden in opinion polls conducted in several key swing states.

Pollsters at Fabrizio, Lee & Associates suggest the 46th American President would lose to his predecessor in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia and Arizona – all of which Biden flipped blue last year.

According to polling data collated by US website ‘FiveThirtyEight’, Mr Trump averages a two percent lead over Biden in nationwide opinion polls released throughout November.

But if the 45th President could mount an electoral comeback with victory in 2024 he would become just the second White House resident to serve two non-consecutive terms in the Oval Office.

The only other Commander-in-Chief to do so was 22nd President Grover Cleveland who was inaugurated in 1885 before being ousted from office following the 1888 election.

Mr Cleveland then returned to the White House as the 24th President in 1893.

Mr Farage’s interview with Mr Trump will be the second time the former President has talked politics with the former Brexit Party leader in public in the UK, having done so on the radio station LBC while in office.

The populist duo have established a well-known transatlantic political friendship since the UK voted to leave the European Union in June 2016.

Following the referendum result, Mr Farage held talks at Trump Tower in New York in November 2016 just three months after he appeared on stage at a ‘Make America Great Again’ rally in Jackson, Mississippi.

The ex-UKIP leader returned to the states in 2020 and joined Mr Trump in Arizona where the then President hailed Mr Farage as the “King of Europe”.

‘Farage: The Trump Interview’ will air on GB News on December 1 at 7pm.
