Donald Trump has been accused of groping a former model at a tennis tournament.

Amy Dorris was 24 when the alleged assault took place at the US Open in New York in 1997.

She was in Trump’s VIP box and claimed: “He just shoved his tongue down my throat and I was pushing him off.

"That’s when his grip became tighter and his hands were all over my butt, my breasts, everything. I was in his grip and I couldn’t get out of it.”

Dorris, now 48, said she told him to stop but “he didn’t care”.

She has come forward now because she wanted to be a role model for her two girls.

She said: “I want them to see I stood up to somebody who did something unacceptable.”

Trump has denied all claims of sex assault against him.

The accusation comes shortly after the president was nominated for the 2021 Nobel Peace Price by a Norwegian official for helping to negotiate peace between Israel and the United Arab Emirates.

Trump was praised the president of the Untied States for his efforts towards resolving international conflicts.

Christian Tybring-Gjedde, a member of the Norwegian Parliament, who submitted the nomination, cited Trump’s “key role” in negotiations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates and the conflict between South Korea and North Korea.

In his nomination letter, Mr Tybring-Gjedde wrote: "For his merit, I think he has done more trying to create peace between nations than most other Peace Prize nominees."

Mr Tybring-Gjedde was keen to stress that he is not a "big Trump supporter" and said the committee "should look at the facts and judge him on the facts – not the way he behaves sometimes."

The Nobel Peace Prize recipient is determined by a five-person Nobel Committee, which is appointed by the Norwegian Parliament.

Trump will not find out if he is the winner of the prize until October 2021.
