Diana’s ‘big boobs’ gift for William’s 13th birthday sent Prince ‘bright red’

Princess Diana was well-known in royal circles for her cheeky sense of humour – and the cake she reportedly bought Prince William on his 13th birthday sent the future King of England "bright-red", according to a former royal chef.

The Duke of Cambridge, who turns 39 on Monday, June 21, was reportedly rather embarrassed by his mum on the day he became a teenager.

Prince Harry later revealed Diana was a "total kid through and through" – and she proved it 16 years ago.

This was because she was planning something slightly ruder than a beautifully decorated Victoria Sponge for William's birthday cake.

Diana's former head chef Darren McGrady previously told HELLO!: "I came into work that morning and went down to the refrigerator, opened the door and I was just confronted with the biggest pair of boobs I've ever seen in my life.

"The Princess had ordered a boobs cake for William's 13th birthday.

"I wish I'd taken a photograph of it! I didn't know anything about it, I just thought, 'Oh my gosh.' I asked the butler, 'What on Earth is this?' and he said the Princess had ordered it for William's birthday."

Darren added: "The Princess loved embarrassing people in the nicest way, in a fun way, whether it was telling a dirty, risqué joke – which usually got me. William just went bright-red."

But Harry absolutely loved it and told Diana he wanted one too, reports the Daily Mail .

Diana used to love embarrassing her boys, and another time she decided to invite supermodels Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell and Christy Turlington over to their house one evening.

They were waiting for him when he got home from school, and admits that he "pretty much fell down the stairs" when he saw them.

Recalling the incident in a documentary, Prince William said: "I was probably a 12 or 13-year-old boy who had posters of them on his wall. And I went bright red and didn’t know what to say and sort of fumbled and I think I pretty much fell down the stairs on the way up.

"I was completely and utterly sort of awestruck. But that was a very funny memory."

He said it showed she was loving but was also a joker who liked to tease him.

Harry added: "That sort of childish, fun element really came out when she was spending time with us.

"Our mother was a total kid through and through… All I can hear is her laugh in my head. That sort of crazy laugh of where there was just pure happiness shown on her face.

"One of her mottos to me was, ‘You can be as naughty as you want, just don’t get caught.’"
