Denver weather: Cool-off continues with a chance of afternoon storms – The Denver Post

The cooler weather continues today with a chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon.

The Denver area will be partly sunny with a high of 82 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight’s low should be around 58 degrees.

There’s a 50% chance of thunderstorms after 2 p.m.

Sunday warms up a bit with a high temperature of 89 degrees under sunny skies and a slight chance of afternoon thunderstorms.

Monday and Tuesday will see temperatures in the high 70s to low 80s with a chance of afternoon rain. Wednesday is forecast to be sunny with a high of 88 degrees.

Denver had 17 days in a row with temps of at least 90 degrees from Aug. 11 to Aug. 27. This year is now second on the list with 67 days over 90 degrees; 2012 had 73 such days.

The mountains today will see scattered rain showers and high temperatures ranging from 54 to 64 degrees. High temps on the Eastern Plains will range from 74 to 84 degrees.

Smoke conditions should improve over north central and northeastern Colorado through Saturday night.
