Joe Biden dodged a question about son Hunter Biden’s business ties to foreign countries during Tuesday’s Democratic debate, declaring: “My son did nothing wrong.”

Biden was asked by CNN’s Anderson Cooper why it’s not OK for President Trump’s children to have foreign business dealings but it was fine for Hunter when his dad was vice president.

The former Delaware senator, 76, said his son’s interview on the controversy earlier Tuesday “speaks for itself.”

In the sit-down with ABC News, Hunter, 49, maintained he “did nothing wrong at all” by being on the board of Burisma Holdings, a Ukrainian natural gas company, while his dad was in office, though he conceded that he displayed “poor judgement.”

Hunter has vowed not to serve on the boards of foreign-owned companies if his father is elected president.

On stage in Ohio, the elder Biden turned the conversation back to the impeachment inquiry launched against Trump.

“What we have to do now is focus on Donald Trump,” he said. “He doesn’t want me to be the candidate. He is going after me because he knows if I get the nomination, I will beat him like a drum.”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi launched the inquiry after a whistleblower’s complaint showed that Trump asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate the Bidens.

There has been no evidence of wrongdoing by either Joe or Hunter Biden.
