Death Row murderer feasted on ‘popular’ last meal before chilling final 4 words

The final words and meal of a depraved murderer who slaughtered an elderly couple while stalking an ex-girlfriend, have been revealed.

Scott Eizember, 62, was killed with the lethal cocktail at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester, Oklahoma, US, yesterday (January 12).

In 2003, he killed A.J. Cantrell, 76, and his wife, Patsy Cantrell, 70, after taking them hostage.

The 62-year-old killer had broken into the couple's home to wait for his ex-girlfriend, Kathryn Smith, but ended up taking the Cantrell pair hostage before killing them.

The pair's murder sparked what is believed to be one of Oklahoma's largest manhunts.

Authorities believe Eizember hid out in wooded areas around the towns of Depew and Bristow for more than 30 days.

Eizember, who was captured in Texas, was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to death for killing A.J.

He was convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to 150 years in prison for the killing of Patsy.

However, he was put to death earlier this week, and passed away at 10.15am local time (4.15pm GMT), becoming the eighth execution in Oklahoma since the state resumed executions in 2021.

And his final meal was traditional – yet expensive.

The bloke, who claimed to be “at peace” in his final words, requested a huge Ribeye steak, cooked medium rare.

And he wanted to have it with two sides of fries.

No dessert or drinks appear to have been requested, according to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections' official fact sheet released to the media shortly after his death.

It also emerged that his final words were watched on by his spiritual advisor.

He said, seconds before being given the lethal injection: "I’m at peace – my conscience is clear, completely.

“I love my children.”

Details about exactly what was in his injection have also been made public.

He was given a mix of Midazolam to sedate him, Rocuronium Bromide to stop him from breathing and Potassium Chloride to stop his heart.

Members of the family related to his victims were in attendance for his last breath.
