Dad of man who died in Michael Barrymore’s pool hits out at fallen star: ‘Stop bleating’

The former Strike It Lucky host is said to be “raw with anger” that he has been unable to rebuild his career after the death of party guest Stuart Lubbock in his pool in 2001.

But Stuart’s father Terry hit back last night: “Barry-more bleats that his life has been ruined, but at least he’s still got his life – my son is dead.

“He could have – and still could – sit down with me and the police and tell us what really happened that night 18 years ago. He’s still not told the full version of events.

And, as the Daily Star reported yesterday, Barrymore claims in an interview on ITV’s Piers Morgan’s Life Stories that people “don’t want to accept that he was an innocent man”.

But Terry said: “If he feels raw anger and wants to be allowed to rebuild his life then come clean and tell all – get it all off his chest. I won’t rest until I get justice for Stuart, which I will try to do until the day I die.”

Asked if he would watch the interview, he said: “Probably. I’ll be interested to hear what he says about my son’s death.”
