Couple who ‘had sex with their female dog called Nala’ face bestiality charge

An Australian couple facing charges of allegedly performing a sex act with a dog claim that their privacy has been invaded.

The pair from Elderslie, Sydney, are yet to enter pleas over the charge of beastiality which is alleged to have taken place at their home on July 9, last year.

It is claimed that the man, 44, and a woman, 54, filmed a sex act with the female dog called Nala at their house.

The couple represented themselves at Picton Local Court on Tuesday after they were arrested on December 30.

They are due back in court on March 10 after being granted bail.

Magistrate Ian Cheetham advised the pair that they seek legal counsel to represent them before they return to court.

Bail was given to the two on the condition that they don’t have custody or care of any animal.

If convicted it is reported that the two could be jailed for up to 14 years.

Outside court, the man is reported by the Macarthur Chronicle as saying the charges were an “invasion of his privacy”.

An American man who had sex with his dog and shared clips of the abuse on Facebook avoided jail last year.

Nicholase Hill from Maine admitted animal cruelty on October 31 but was told he would avoid jail if he agreed to undergo a mental health evaluation and counselling.

He was ordered to complete 60 hours community service, pay a $250 fine and stay away from dogs.
