Cops release video of man being shoved onto subway tracks in Brooklyn
Police on Sunday night released surveillance footage of an unsuspecting victim being shoved onto the subway tracks in Brooklyn on Sunday.
The disturbing images show a man in a dark jacket and hooded sweatshirt as he darts across the subway platform of the northbound 4 and 5 trains at the Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center stop, according to police.
The maniac can then be seen forcefully shoving the 29-year-old victim off the platform at around 11:30 a.m.
The man’s girlfriend could then be seen struggling with the suspect, who violently shoves her before fleeing the scene.
The victim had been riding the northbound 4 train with his girlfriend when the suspect, who had been sleeping, suddenly woke up and started screaming, according to police.
It was unclear what the person had been screaming about, but he followed the couple off the train at the Atlantic Avenue stop before shoving the man on the southbound tracks.
The victim was able to get back on the platform and was not seriously hurt, police said.
The incident comes on the heels of several subway shoving incidents in the Big Apple, including two on back-to-back days last week.
On Thursday, a 40-year-old Brooklyn woman was pushed onto the trackbed at the 14th Street-Union Square station in a horrifying caught-on-video attack. Victim Liliana Sagbaicela later told The Post she had no memory of the incident.
Late Wednesday, a panhandler shoved a subway rider onto the tracks at the Bryant Park station. The 36-year-old victim also escaped serious injury, according to police.
