The sickening stunt in Texas was widely condemned on social media and has been shared more than ten million times.

Now Lufkin Police have identified a girl who has been dubbed “the Lufkin Licker”and spoken with her about her actions.

A police spokesman said the case is to be passed to the Texas Juvenile Justice Department but the girl’s name would not be released because she’s a juvenile. 

Before being arrested police said the culprit could have faced up to 20 years in prison and had planned on arresting her on a charge of second-degree felony tampering.

Ice cream makers Blue Bell told CBS news the ice cream that was licked was never sold. 

“Our staff recognized the location in the video, and we inspected the freezer case,” a spokesman said.

“Based on security footage, the location and the inspection of the carton, we believe we may have recovered the half gallon that was tampered with. Out of an abundance of caution, we have also removed all Tin Roof half gallons from that location.

“Food tampering is not a joke, and we will not tolerate tampering with our products.”

Blue Bell said they notified police as soon they identified the store where the incident took place.
