Cold spell continues in Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley

There is no end in sight for the cold spell on British Columbia’s South Coast.

Global News meteorologist Mark Madryga says it will be another very cold morning under a clear sky in Metro Vancouver on Wednesday as temperatures will dip close to -8 C.

“The record for the Vancouver airport on this date is -8 C way back in the year 1948,” he said Wednesday. “We’ll be down to about -5 C tonight so not quite as cold.”

Another blast of cold air will come down through the Interior and hit the South Coast on Saturday afternoon and Sunday, he said, adding that it will stay “quite chilly here on the South Coast through at least the middle of the month.”

The forecast even calls for some snow on Friday.
