A female passenger he had met that night was reportedly in the car with him.

Drinkwater’s career has faltered since his disasterous move from Leicester to Chelsea in 2017, for £35million.

He has not featured under Italian boss Maurizio Sarri, nor played a competitive game for 13 months.
