Prince Charles has arrived at King Edward VII’s hospital in London to visit his dad Prince Philip.
Charles arrived at the back of the London hospital where Philip, the 99-year-old husband of Queen Elizabeth, has been since Tuesday.
The Duke of Edinburgh is expected to remain in hospital until next week.
He was driven 26 miles from Windsor Castle in a private car and walked into the hospital unaided.
Upon his arrival at hospital, a spokesperson for Buckingham Palace said in a statement: "His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh was admitted to the King Edward VII Hospital in London, on Tuesday evening.
"The Duke's admission is a precautionary measure, on the advice of His Royal Highness's Doctor, after feeling unwell."
They added: "The Duke is expected to remain in hospital for a few days of observation and rest."
Following the decision to keep Philip under observation, a source told the BBC that the royal remains in good spirits and that his doctor is acting with an “abundance of caution”.
It is believed he had felt ill days before being ordered to visit hospital as a "precautionary measure", and it is not related to coronavirus.
The Duke of Edinburgh spent four nights at the same hospital at the end of 2019 while being treated for a pre-existing condition.
Philip is now rarely seen in public. He stepped down from official engagements in August 2017 after completing more than 22,000 solo events and thousands more alongside the queen.
On Saturday, January 9, Buckingham Palace announced the 94-year-old head of state and her consort, 99, had been given the coronavirus vaccination.
The Palace rarely comments on health matters, but it is understood the Queen decided the information should be made public to prevent inaccuracies and further speculation.
