CCTV shows moment crazed man runs into classroom and punches teacher 13 times

The moment a man stormed a classroom and furiously punched a school teacher 13 times while she was chatting to a mum went viral after a video of the assault was shared on social media.

In the video, the crazed man can be seen bursting through the door and landing punch after punch on the teacher's back and head as she instinctively cowers over her desk to try and protect herself.

The mum jumps to her feet and gets between him and the teacher, physically blocking him from pummelling her further.

Mr Luo, the suspect, was sought by police in Hengyang City in China.

He was accused of punching secondary school teacher Ms Zhou 13 times in the head and back on Saturday, November 16.

The 30-year-old turned himself in and claimed he mistook her for someone else.

The authorities said Ms Zhou, who teachers at Xinghuo Experimental School, suffered no serious injuries and told police that her attacker was unknown both to her and her students.

The Santang Police Station put out wanted notices for Mr Luo, who they said turned himself in yesterday morning.

Mr Luo reportedly admitted to assaulting Ms Zhou, but claimed he did so after mistaking her for a woman driver who had allegedly knocked him off his bike in a hit-and-run the same morning.

According to a police statement, he said he was driving past the school when he was struck by a white Geely saloon but admitted he did not see the owner's face, noting only a "ponytail" .

Mr Luo followed the vehicle's path and arrived at the school, where he noticed many teachers and parents, and then spotted Ms Zhou who was wearing a ponytail on the day.

Ms Zhou has reportedly agreed to forgive Mr Luo and has dropped all charges after he agreed to compensate her for the attack.
