A cannabis tycoon allegedly threatened to kill a couple’s horse in a bid to force them out of their lavish home.

Millionaire Dr Geoffrey Guy, who was nicknamed Doctor Pot, earned his fortune through cannabis-based medicinal drugs.

He is embroiled in a feud with his neighbours, Alo and Andrew Brake, in idyllic west Dorset.

The couple worked for Dr Guy and live on Axnoller farm in Beaminster, which the pharmaceutical tycoon owns.

The estate is a popular wedding venue and has hosted the likes of Sean Bean, who married his fifth wife, Ashely Moore, there two years ago, and comedians Jack Whitehall and David Walliams have stayed there as guests.

Axnoller Events – where Dr Guy and his wife are two of three directors – is trying to evict the married couple and the row has become so bitter that couples planning to hold their wedding at the venue have felt pressured to consider alternatives, The Times reports.

The firm has denied that any threat was made to destroy the horses and claims ‘the company’s solicitor simply used the language of the relevant statute to persuade the Brakes to remove the horses’.

Yeovil county court heard that the company commissioned a letter from an equine law expert saying the Brakes had 96 hours to remove their horses from the stables.

It said that Axnoller could ‘claim’ and ‘dispose’ of them ‘by way of sale, destruction or another way at the client’s discretion’.

Dr Guy is believed the have paid about £7million for Axnoller Events, which includes the farm, and bought it in 2017.

The 64-year-old, dubbed Dr Pot by locals, took control of the property after the Brakes went bankrupt in 2015.

Prior to their money woes, the couple had renovated the property and transformed it into a wedding venue as well as building an equestrian facility.

The couple claimed in court that Dr Guy promised them they could live in the main building – Axnoller House – for five years or until they were in a position to buy a similar home.

But on November 8 last year, the landlord terminated their employment following an argument.

He served them with an eviction notice ordering them to vacate their property by close of business the next day.

Dr Pot demanded they move into a neighbouring cottage, the ownership of which has been disputed. Mrs Brake has kidney failure and was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017.

Axnoller Events insists that the steps it has taken are ‘correct in law’ and has said that the couple’s occupation of the main building it ‘unlawful’.

The ongoing row has disrupted several weddings after an email was sent out to customers last month stating that the venue’s availability could no longer be guaranteed.

Couples who had hoped to enjoy the houses’ bridal suite were left with alternative accommodation.

Dr Guy – who founded GW Pharmaceuticals – even hosted a wedding at his house, the neighbouring Chedington Court, last weekend.

Axnoller Events says that the Brakes’s removal of furniture is to blame for the impact on weddings.

A bride who had planned to marry there this summer described the situation as ‘heart-breaking’ as she decides whether or not to cancel her wedding.

Dr Guy, who is estimated to be worth more than £100million, is famed for his work treating multiple sclerosis with cannabis plant extracts.

His home, Chedington Court, is a grade II-listed Jacobean-style home with its own cinema and orangerie.
