Canadian teaching assistant fired from job over raunchy OnlyFans

Making ends meet! Canadian teaching assistant, 35, is fired from $374-a-week job over raunchy OnlyFans account and social media post where she dressed as a SCHOOLGIRL

  • Kristin MacDonald, 35,  worked as a teaching assistant for School District 43 in Maple Ridge for eight years before she was fired for ‘sexualizing the school environment’
  • MacDonald says her OnlyFans account is ‘not hurting anybody’ and she should be able to do what she wants ‘as long as it’s not illegal’

A Canadian teaching assistant has been dismissed from her position for allegedly ‘sexualizing the school environment’ after her employer discovered her online adult content – including an OnlyFans account.

Kristin MacDonald, 35, claimed she was struggling to make ends meet in her $374-a-week job so started posting raunchy content on the X-rated subscription service under the pseudonym Ava James a year ago.

School District 43 in Maple Ridge fired Macdonald on June 16 writing in a letter: ‘Your misconduct in this matter is egregious,’ and listing six reasons for her termination.

Among them is allegedly posting material on public social media accounts that involves the sexualization of the school environment.’

MacDonald’s publicly accessible Instagram account includes pictures of her dressed as a schoolgirl in a deliberately provocative manner.

The assistant, who had worked at the school for eight years, hit back telling CBC, ‘I feel like they’re making connections to, you know, me defaming the education system by wearing this outfit,’ MacDonald said.

‘It’s so far-fetched to me. It seems very petty,’ she added.

MacDonald said she has contacted her union, Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) 561, and placed a complaint.

Her union representative Randy Kootte told The Sun: ‘The union does not believe that Kristin’s off-duty conduct violated any company policies or collective agreement provisions.’

But she’s optimistic: ‘What I hope the final outcome will be is that this situation sets a precedent for other people in similar situations where maybe they are being discriminated against based on doing some sort of sex work.

‘I would like to see policies and employers be more accepting and progressive with their opinion and outlook on sex work. Because sex work is still work.

‘There’s been a lot of mixed emotions about it,’ MacDonald explained.

‘Certainly, disappointment and everything. But I’m also optimistic that the process is not over yet.’

‘I feel strongly that in this day and age, we should be able to do what we want as long as it’s not illegal,’ MacDonald said.

‘I’m not hurting anybody.’

MacDonald said she made $1000 Canadian dollars in take home pay every two weeks, which is the equivalent of $374 USD a-week.

She says the low salary drove her to sex work to give her a better quality of life.

In a statement the school district said it does not comment on individual cases but ‘recognizes and values the central role its employees play in achieving the District’s purpose of providing quality public education in a safe, inclusive, and socially responsible environment for the benefit of the learners it serves and the broader community.’

Adding: ‘Consistent with that, the District strives to ensure all employees are treated equitably and issues are investigated and addressed thoroughly and fairly in accordance with the District’s policies, procedures, and legal obligations.’
