Brit mum who fled UK to join fugitive husband found stabbed to death

A BRITISH mum who fled the UK to join her fugitive husband has been found dead in a campervan in mysterious circumstances.

Police initially said Tracey Brown took her own life after she was found lifeless with a single stab wound at a resort in Bulgaria on Christmas Day.

But, according to The Mail on Sunday, cops are now probing the possibility of foul play after receiving new information from the UK.

Tracey's husband Martin is currently a fugitive and faces a series of assault charges that date back to 2017.

At the time of his wife’s death, he told investigators he discovered her body in their campervan after walking their dogs near the city of Burgas.

To date, the 39-year-old has not been questioned as a suspect, according to reports.

Tracey, 54, first moved away from the UK to join Martin in France four years ago after selling her house and her successful accountancy business in Rochdale.

She left behind a son, now 18, from a previous marriage which ended when she began an affair with her lover ten years ago.

A close friend said: “She was besotted with him and bought him a motorbike and a car.

"She loved the fact that he was 16 years younger than her.”

The pair charted a spectacular trip around Europe in a motorhome that took them through countries including France, Portugal, Spain and finally Bulgaria.

Tracey’s father, Alan Kershaw, last saw the loved-up couple in May 2018 in Italy.

He said: “We never believed this was suicide so we welcome the latest development.

"We just want the police to get to the truth of what happened.”

Alan, and his wife Ann, said they heard several conflicting accounts of their daughter’s death and suggested that the local authorities were not forthcoming with information.

The devastated father also revealed that in recent months the pair had been asking for funds including £1,000 for a new tyre for the campervan.

He added: “Relations had been strained for some time, but Tracey rang me on my birthday, and I thought it might be an opportunity to mend bridges.”

Lancashire Police later confirmed that her husband Martin faces three outstanding charges from January 2017.

An investigation into his wife’s death is said to be ongoing
