Brit dad, 34, fighting for life in Marbella after ‘liver tumour exploded’ causing him to collapse on lads’ holiday

A BRIT dad is fighting for life after a liver tumour 'exploded' on a lads holiday to Marbella.

Richard Phillips, 34, was rushed to A&E after collapsing in a Spanish apartment on Saturday night.

He underwent emergency surgery after scans revealed a major bleed on his liver.

The Birmingham dad is now lying in intensive care "with his chest open" as doctors battle around the clock to staunch the bleeding.

His sister Gemma – who flew out to Marbella to be by his side – is now trying to raise £10,000 to cover medical bills.

She said: "Rich is a genuine down to earth guy who is well loved by his children, family and friends. He’s a keen gym goer and is well loved by his Emporium family in Erdington.

"Members have been so supportive and we have received so many messages of goodwill.

"As his younger sister, it’s heartbreaking for me to see my older brother in such a critical state.

"Rich unfortunately forgot to take out any holiday insurance and his European health card has expired.

"He also faces a long an intense recovery which will be life changing for him.

"It looks as though he will need to be flown back to the UK at some point for specialist hospital care.

"Therefore we are asking for any donations possible to help with the costly foreign medical bills that currently increasing daily.

"Please help where you can, we are extremely great full for any donations big or small."
