BREAKING: Topshop owner to close 23 stores across UK
The rescue plan earmarks Dorothy Perkins, Burton, Topshop and Topman stores for closure, putting 520 jobs at risk.
Proposals by the retail group will also see rent cut at another 194 outlets.
Sir Philip Green’s retail empire owns a host of fashion brands, including Topshop, Burton, Dorothy Perkins, Evans, Miss Selfridge, and Wallis.
Retail analyst Richard Hyman told the BBC that Toyshop had been propping up the weaker brands.
“Arcadia for many years has been a business with one very good brand – Topshop – and others that are somewhat past their best”

He said: ”Arcadia for many years has been a business with one very good brand – Topshop – and others that are somewhat past their best.
“In a growth market it is easy to paper over the cracks, and there was a growth market from the mid 90s up until the financial crisis in 2008.”
Tycoon Sir Philip was also involved in a number of scandals, such as when he sold BHS for £1 to Dominic Chappell in 2015.
The move sparked outrage, with calls for his knighthood to be removed.
Lord Stuart Rose, a former boss of M&S and retail rival, told the Financial Times in 2015: “He’s more of a yesterday’s man than he is a tomorrow’s man… Time has caught him up.”
