Officers raced to Church Road, Manor Park after they were alerted by the London Ambulance Service on Monday night. 

When police arrived just after 9.26pm, they found a man – aged in his 20s – suffering from both gunshot and stab wounds. 

Despite paramedics’ best efforts, he died shortly afterwards. 

Enquiries are underway to contact his family members. 

A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman told Daily Star Online: “A post-mortem will be scheduled in due course. A crime scene has been established and officers remain in the area conducting enquiries. 

“The Homicide and Major Crime Command has been notified.”

There have been no arrests made at this time. 

An enhanced police presence will be present in the area following the savage attack.
