BREAKING: James Goddard ‘yellow vest’ protester found guilty of assault
Mr Goddard has been found guilty of common assault of photojournalist Joel Goodman at a demonstration in Manchester city centre on February 9th.
The self styled ‘yellow vest’ protester was cleared of a second charge of using threatening, abusive or insulting words.
Back in March, Mr Goddard said “there is no case to answer” when he entered his pleas.
The court relied on evidence obtained from Goodman’s bodycam footage for which lasted over two minutes.
As Mr Goodman gave evidence at the trial today, Goddard help up a piece of paper with the words: “P***y coward leftist soy boy.”
Officers were called into court by district judge Mark Hadfield but he chose not to pursue the matter as contempt of court.
After hearing evidence from both Mr Goddard and Mr Goodman, the judge convicted Goddard of common assault.
