At least six people were seen falling from the tower in the Banani district.

Others have been seen trying to climb down the 19-storey FR Tower in the Bangladeshi capital.

Multiple people are trapped inside with no confirmation of casualties. 

Firefighters have been at the scene dousing flames and trying to evacuate people inside.

A mother of a woman who works on the 12th floor told the Daily Star in the Middle East: “The last contact we had is that she said there were massive fumes and that it was difficult breathing. Now, we can’t reach her through phone.”
