Body of missing woman found in freezer in woods 9 months after she disappeared

The dismembered body of a woman in the United States missing for nine months has been found stuffed inside a freezer.

Talina Galloway’s remains were discovered dumped in the woods in Arkansas, US.

Her roommate Kore Bommeli, 59, has now been arrested and charged with her murder.

Ms Galloway, 53, had not been seen since last March after she disappeared from her home in Wagoner, Oklahoma.

Authorities launched a huge hunt for her after Bommeli reported her missing on April 17.

Last week, a passerby stumbled upon a dumped white box top freezer in a wooded area near Acorn, Arkansas – 150miles away from Ms Galloway’s home.

She said there was a foul smell coming from it, NBC reported.

The walker called police who opened it and found human remains, which were later identified as being the missing woman.

Bommeli, who had already been a prime suspect in the disappearance, was arrested on Thursday in Wisconsin.

She is due to be moved to Oklahoma where she faces charges of first-degree murder and desecration of a human corpse.

She had previously been arrested for obstructing the investigation and destroying evidence in the case, before being released on $150,000 (£110,000) bond.

"Our hearts go out to the family of Talina Galloway," Sheriff Elliott said.

"They are certainly in our prayers."

Last April – before the missing persons report by Bommeli – a post by Talina’s Facebook account said she thought she had coronavirus but would not go to hospital.

The post, on April 7, said: "I'm on Day 9 of this virus and I am pretty sure it has reached my lungs.

"I made the decision at the onset that if it got bad enough, I would not go to the hospital."

But her friends and family later said the post was out of character.

They also said they did not believe she would walk away without letting anyone know.

Court documents claim analysis of Bommeli’s phone show she had been searching online for "ways to get blood out of concrete and wood," according to the Daily Mail.

Ms Galloway’s driving licence was also found cut into pieces inside a storage unit rented by Bommel, it is claimed.

The Wagoner Oklahoma Sheriff's Office said investigators had been working "very hard on this case" since last summer.

Wagoner County Sheriff Chris Elliott said: "Our hearts go out to the family of Talina Galloway. They are certainly in our prayers."
