A body has been discovered in an empty flat in London after neighbours reported a "foul odour" that lasted at least two weeks.
The Metropolitan Police raided the home at 2.53pm on Friday 18 December following neighbourhood claims a "foul odour" had been coming from the property in The Crescent, Southall, West London.
Detectives discovered a body and confirmed they’re investigating an "unexplained death" in the area.
Police however refused to comment on local claims the corpse was found stuffed inside a suitcase at the address.
It is understood a painter reported the body to police, with locals also claiming the body was "of a female."
Forensic scientists were pictured entering the flat, which is above a parade of shops in Southall, shortly after 3pm.
In the pictures, experts can be seen dressed in scrubs and sitting on the edge of a car outside the property.
Lights were also on well into the evening and early Saturday morning, with a large police presence close by.
Police have also reportedly visited shops in the area looking for CCTV footage that may aide their investigation.
