Bizarre moment a cow leaps into a pool after being chased by two dogs – before being lassoed to safety by two cowboys who arrived to save the day

• An Alabama man shared a clip which shows security camera footage of a tranquil backyard swimming pool, but then the unexpected happens
• Two dogs are seen trying to herd a cow, but they end up chasing it into the pool 
• The cow struggles to get out and a dog jumps in only to get dunked in the water
• Then, out of the trees along the edge the property, a lone cowboy emerges with a lasso in his hands closely followed by another wrangler 
• The cow is lassoed on the cowboy’s first attempt and is dragged out of the pool 
• The cow manages to get free again causing one of the horses to rear up 

The moment a cow jumps into a swimming pool while being chased by dogs outside a home in Alabama has been caught on video. 

The footage begins with two dogs chasing a cow across a back lawn. Within seconds of the video starting one of the dogs bites the cow, startling it. 

The video was uploaded by Michael French to YouTube who narrates excitedly throughout. 

‘What in the world? What the hell is this?!’ French exclaims as the drama unfolds.  

Moments later the drama is ramped up a notch as the cow plunges into the swimming pool closely followed by one of the dogs.

‘Cow is in the pool!’ The narrator yells. 

‘Oh my goodness! Dog is in the pool going after the cow! They are in the deep end!’ he shouts.  

French claims that the clip was sent to him by his niece. It has so far received more than 150,000 views. 

The riveting commentary continues: ‘Dog bites cow… dog is biting cow! Cow puts him under the water…. dunks him!’  

The plucky dog that bit the cow then decides to swim away, at which point a second dog who has remained poolside throughout the drama approaches the cow’s head and barks.

The cow, meanwhile, turns away and attempts to try and get out of the pool after swimming under the diving board much to the amusement of the commentator.

The dog that was in the pool and had looked to be swimming away then decides to return to taunt the cow one more time.

Then, out of the trees along the edge the property, a cowboy emerges with a lasso in his hands closely followed by another wrangler

The cow uses the steps to climb out of the pool, meanwhile the dog is still stuck in the water

‘They are both stuck in the pool, in the deep end. They can’t get out! What in the world?’ the commentator exclaims. 

Just when it appears that things couldn’t get any more bizarre, two cowboys arrive on scene, emerging from trees at the edge of the backyard. 

One of the cowboys is seen swinging a lasso in the air just as the cow makes it towards the shallow end of the pool.

In a moment of pure professionalism the cowboy manages to lasso the cow on the very first attempt and drags the animal out of the swimming pool.

‘Oh my goodness he’s got a lasso!’ cheers the commentator. ‘Cow is trying to get out… he’s in the shallow end!

‘Lasso! Oh he’s doing a lasso thing! He got the cow with a lasso! First attempt! Oh my goodness! First shot! What in the world?!’ says the by now bewildered commentator.

The cow manages to get free again causing one of the horses to rear up

While the drama unfolds, a man arrives on scene to attempt to retrieve the dog from the pool

As the cow climbs out of the pool both cowboys manage to drag the animal away however the dog that has remained on dry land throughout now decides to chase the cow who manages to breaks free from the lasso rope. 

The second cowboy then tries to lasso the cow one more time before rearing the horse up on his hind legs. 

‘He just wheelied his horse!’ yells the overwhelmed commentator. 

All the while, a third man arrives on scene to drag one of the dogs from the pool. 

The commentator becomes even more excited at the culmination of the video as he sums up the craziness of all that has just been witnessed.  

‘What in the world is this? Dogs! Cow in the pool, one minute later out of the pool! Lasso! The hell Alabama!’
