BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker flustered by Glasto festival-goer's revealing shorts

BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker was left flustered this morning by a Glastonbury festival-goer's skimpy shorts as she grappled with a wheelbarrow.

The 42-year-old couldn't contain his surprise and continued to chuckle after a live segment of people rushing through the festival gates was broadcast.

He looked stunned as the journalist reporting from the Somerset music hotspot laughed about the wobbly wheel on the barrow the woman was pushing.

He chipped in with: "Interesting outfit as well. Lot of flesh, lot of flesh there… Morning."

The young woman was sporting what appeared to be very short denim shorts – a festival staple – with wellies, and looked ready to enjoy the blistering temperatures predicted to hit the UK by the end of the week.

The presenter continued to laugh as his co-host Louise Minchin tried to tell viewers the BBC would be screening Glasto slots throughout the week.

A sea of festival-goers had queued for 12 hours as they descended on Glastonbury for the first day of the festival.

Determined revellers arrived in their thousands at Worthy Farm this morning as they precariously balanced their tents and booze on their backs – or wheelbarrows.

Campers were greeted by cloudy but dry weather this morning, with sunshine and conditions of up to 23 degrees from mid-afternoon.

Temperatures are set to stay in the 20s throughout the week – but punters were advised to bring their wellies after rain on Monday turned the site into a mudbath.

The hottest day is forecast for Friday, when temps could climb to 27C.

In 2016, Dan replaced Bill Turnbull as presenter of BBC Breakfast.

His first show aired on 29 February and he currently co-presents the programme with Louise Minchin.

Dan has hosted BBC's Football Focus since taking over from Manish Bhasin in August 2009.

He also presents on BBC Radio 5 Live and regularly reports for Final Score and Match of the Day.
