It'll be a sunny bank holiday weekend for most of us with a 25C spring heatwave on the way from later next week.
Britain is primed for its first “soft heatwave” of the year as Easter sunshine makes way for 25C splendour. Holidaymakers will bask in glorious blue skies today and most of tomorrow, with highs of 18C.
And although heavy downpours and strong winds are predicted for Easter Monday, conditions will pick up again before a blast of warm weather next weekend.

Forecaster Jim Dale, from British Weather Services, revealed temperatures could then rise to the early or even mid-20s Celsius after next Saturday. He said: “We do get heatwaves in April, it does happen.
“It’ll be a soft heatwave for the second half of April, it could get somewhere in the mid-20s pushing to May, in that general direction.”
He added that “the signs are there for this kind of change.”
Weather maps produced by the Global Forecast System show a plume of warm air hitting northern France from late next week. It should follow a glorious Easter weekend, with maximums of 18C for both today and tomorrow, as Brits head out to soak up the sun.

But Mr Dale warned that it’s not all good news with a UK-wide wash-out expected on Monday.
He added: “We are still waiting for our first UK named storm of the year.
“We have had continental storms and we had about six by this time last year.

“This year we have had none. But that doesn’t yet mean we are out of the woods as next week it does get a bit gravelly.” The Met Office is predicting “unsettled” weather next week, as a low-pressure system blows over the country from the Atlantic.
Deputy chief forecaster David Oliver said: “A frontal system is expected to move in from the west and displace the high pressure lying across the UK.
“Once the rain clears, blustery showers are likely to follow in its wake across many areas.”
