Baby Archie’s cute word for ‘delighted’ grandad Prince Charles on Zoom call

Prince Charles learned of his grandson Archie’s name for him when he heard him say “pa” in a Zoom call according to a royal source.

The Prince of Wales was reportedly “delighted” by the cute name as he enjoyed a call with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to celebrate the Duke of Sussex’s 36th Birthday.

Harry and Meghan had already left their working roles with the Royal Family and were in their US home in Santa Barbara, California.

Charles had reportedly called his son to wish him happy birthday and was said to be pleased to see Archie on the call in 2020.

Meghan had a cake, which she had baked, ready for the call and the Prince of Wales got to watch as his youngest son got to blow out the candles.

It was after the candles were blown out that Archie called Charles “Pa”.

The source revealed that, at the time, Archie was only able to say a few words such as “Dada”, “Mama” and “dog” among others.

Harry allegedly told his father how much he missed his family back in the UK.

A source told The Sun: "It was very pleasant. Harry told the family how much he missed them.

“Meghan baked a cake and Harry blew out candles. Archie made them laugh when he also blew them out.”

Harry's 36th birthday was special for two reasons with one being it was his first after leaving this role with the Royal Family.

The second is because he reached the same age as his mother, the late Princess Diana, when she tragically passed away.

Diana was killed in a car crash in Paris, France after she tried to flee paparazzi in 1997.

Harry returned to the UK last year to help unveil a statue of Diana at Kensington Palace with his brother Prince William.

According to professional lip reader Jeremy Freeman, after revealing the statue, Harry reportedly said: "Wow! Isn't that amazing."

Harry was expected to return once again to the UK but doubt has been thrown after the Duke expressed concern over safety.

In September 2021, he filed a claim for a judicial review against the Home Office decision not to allow him to personally pay for police protection for himself and his family while in the UK.
