At least one injured after shooter opens fire at Mississippi university

At least one person has been shot and injured after a shooter opened fire at a Mississippi University.

The gunman was seen firing from a black Honda Accord at Jackson University shortly after local time midday Wednesday.

That left one person injured, with no update on their condition yet provided.

A spokesman tweeted: ‘We have an active shooter on campus. The suspected shooter is in a black Honda Accord.’

The official shared the car’s license plate number, then added: ‘The entire campus community should take shelter immediately.

‘The campus is currently on lockdown. We will notify you when the situation is resolved.’

Officials have since lifted he lockdown, and said the university ‘is no longer under the threat of an active shooter.’
