Armed commuter chases after MTA bus to confront driver who left him behind

A hotheaded commuter who just missed his  bus Friday morning was so enraged that he chased after the driver and stuck a gun in his face for leaving him behind, police sources said.

The 28-year-old commuter, who was trying to board an MTA bus at Columbus Avenue and 85th Street around 7:50 a.m., jumped in a cab after he missed the ride and told the driver to chase after the bus and cut it off, law enforcement sources said.

The cabbie obliged and when the bus got to West 83rd Street, the man ran out of the cab, hopped into the bus and shoved a loaded .38 caliber revolver in the 55-year-old driver’s face, police sources said.

“Why didn’t you stop for me?” the enraged man demanded, before taking off and ditching a duffle bag holding the gun, the sources said.

Cops soon swarmed the scene, found the duffle bag and arrested the man “without incident” near the corner of West 83rd Street and Central Park West, cops said.

The suspect is being held at the 20th Precinct awaiting charges.

The MTA did not immediately return a request for comment.
