Anti-vax podcaster dies of Covid after catching it at conspiracy conference
An anti-vax podcast host has died of coronavirus, which he caught while attending a conspiracy theory conference.
The ReAwaken America Tour has now been classed as a superspreader event and Doug Kuzma, 61, died on Monday after spending 10 days in a Virginia hospital.
He caught the virus at the event in Texas on December 11.
The host of a show on the FROG (Fully Rely on God) News Network had posted photos on social media at the conference, which showed large crowds in small rooms with no social distancing or mask wearing, The Mirror reports.
The event was also attended by notorious conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, and the son of former American President Donald Trump, Eric.
He admitted to feeling ill a few days later, but claimed that it was down to his “chronic bronchitis”.
Kuzma took a turn for the worst on December 15, when he said that he had a fever and had to call a doctor.
He was told to take a Lateral Flow Test but replied “no way” to a fan.
He added: “You must have lost your mind, so they can kill me, and try and give me the jab.
“I’ll die at the house before I go to the hospital.”
However, just five days later he was forced to go to hospital having been found unconscious at his home on Christmas Eve.
He was placed on a ventilator, but was not responding to treatment.
According to a member of FROG News, the final message he sent was of himself holding a “refill of ivermectin” – the controversial drug that some believe can treat Covid-19 but is not officially approved for that specific use.
More than 832,000 people have died in America since the pandemic began in March, 2020.
