An old red pickup truck — its moment-to-moment travels, the frantic attempts to clean it and the blood left splattered, nonetheless, on its front seats — could be the undoing of Jennifer Dulos’ husband, new police records show.

Fotis Dulos, the estranged husband of the missing Connecticut mom, is suspected of using the borrowed 2001 Toyota Tacoma to drive his wife’s corpse from New Canaan, where she lived, to Farmington, where he lives, according to the Connecticut State Police’s 38-page arrest warrant for Fotis and his girlfriend, Michelle Traconis.

Police detail in the warrant how they carefully reconstructed the red pickup’s 90-minute path between the two towns on the morning of May 24, the day Jennifer dropped the warring couple’s five young children, ages 8 to 13, off at their New Canaan school and then was never seen again.

Police pieced together roadside surveillance videos and footage from home surveillance systems to trace the truck’s route that morning.

They even scoured surveillance footage from the insides of every New Canaan school bus — catching a fleeting glimpse of the red pickup through the windows of three buses.

“At 07:05:17 the above screenshot … taken from a bus traveling northbound on Lapham Road … [shows] where the Toyota will be shown parked on subsequent video clips,” the warrant says.

In the days that followed, Fotis tried like crazy to clean the truck of evidence, the warrant alleges.

He got the truck thoroughly washed and detailed. He enlisted Traconis in the effort and repeatedly badgered the truck’s owner, who was his employee, to replace the front seats.

“Change the seats or sell the truck,” Fotis, a real estate developer, demanded of his worker, Pawel Gumienny.

Fotis’ demands became more desperate, even “pushy,” Gumienny told cops — “sometimes to the point of Dulos growing angry.”

Fotis wanted the stained front seats to disappear — “so they would not be found,” the papers allege.

But the sharp-witted underling suspected something was up. So he did take out the pickup truck’s stained seats, replacing them with seats from a Porsche Cayenne that Fortis gave him.

But Gumienny saved the originals — for police.

DNA from the “bloodlike” substance found on the seats was a perfect match to Jennifer, the documents say.
