EIA reports a weekly decline in U.S. natural-gas supplies

The U.S. Energy Information Administration reported Thursday that domestic supplies of natural gas fell by 94 billion cubic feet for the week ended Nov. 8. That marked the first decline of the inventory withdrawal season. Analysts expected a fall of 91 billion cubic feet, on average, according to a survey conducted by S&P Global Platts. Total stocks now stand at 3.638 trillion cubic feet, up 506 billion cubic feet from a year ago, but 60 billion cubic feet below the five-year average, the government said. German business process outfit Celonis raises funds at $2.5 billion valuation

BERLIN (Reuters) – German software firm Celonis said on Thursday that it had raised $290 million in a Series C funding round, putting a $2.5 billion valuation on the company that has been compared with enterprise application giant SAP.

The funding round was led by Arena Holdings and investors included Ryan Smith, the founder of customer experience specialist Qualtrics that was bought by SAP for $8 billion a year ago.

NY Fed accepts $74.45 bln bids in overnight repo bids

NEW YORK, Nov 21 (Reuters) – The New York Federal Reserve on Thursday accepted $74.45 billion in overnight bids from primary dealers at a repurchase agreement (repo) operation, a move intended to keep the federal funds rate within the target range.

Thursday’s accepted bids were little changed from Wednesday’s, which totaled $74.35 billion.

The U.S. overnight repo rate on Thursday rose to 1.70% after the repo operation, compared with Wednesday’s 1.55%. (Reporting by Gertrude Chavez-Dreyfuss Editing by Chizu Nomiyama)

1 person hospitalized in Langley shooting: RCMP

An early morning shooting in Langley has sent one person to hospital.

It happened at a rural property near 272 Street and 48 Avenue.

Police were saying little other than the victim sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

Investigators remained on scene Thursday morning.

Two women charged in theft of toddler’s medical supplies in Saskatoon

Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) said they have charged two women in relation with the theft of special bandages for a toddler from a home on Tuesday afternoon.

Two women were captured on video taking boxes from a porch at a home on Avenue E South near 19 Street West around 2:15 p.m.

Trump impeachment hearings day five: live updates

The fifth day of public hearings in the Trump impeachment inquiry is set to begin at 9 a.m. on Thursday.

Fiona Hill, the former senior director for Russia at the National Security Council, will testify this morning, alongside David Holmes, an aide to diplomat Bill Taylor who overheard the phone call on July 26 between Ambassador Gordon Sondland and President Trump. Holmes said that he heard Trump ask Sondland about the status of "investigations" into his political rivals, just one day after the now-infamous phone call between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

WASHINGTON – David Holmes, a State Department official who while stationed in Ukraine overheard a phone conversation between President Donald Trump and Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland, testified Thursday in a public hearing before the House Intelligence Committee in the impeachment inquiry. 

Trump allegedly used approved military aid to pressure Ukraine into opening investigations into meddling in the 2016  election an energy company tied to 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden. 

Holmes, who joined the State Department in 2002, said in his opening statement that he heard Trump ask Sondland on July 26 if Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was “gonna do the investigation” and Sondland answer that he would do “anything you ask him to.”
