A BAFFLED American tourist confused a hotel’s complimentary sweet for SOAP in a hilarious TripAdvisor review.

The holidaymaker mistook the sugary Scottish Tablet snack for the shower product at a guest house on the Isle of Skye, Scotland.

Leaving his review for The Pink Guest House in Portree, he complained the tablet was “gritty” and left an “oily residue” when he used it for washing up.

The tourist also told how the bar left on his pillow “disintegrated” before he had finished his shower.

His review read: “You have got to do something with that brown tablet bar of soap you put on each of our beds.

“Not only was it gritty and left an oily residue but disintegrated before the shower was done!

“I have had much better exfoliating bar scrubs.”

But Thomas still enjoyed his stay on the scenic Scottish island – which he hailed as “beautiful”.

He wrote: “Location and view were superb.

“Very clean and had everything we needed.”

Responding to the amusing review on social media, one punter said: “Oh my god, that is priceless.”

Another commented: “This is hilarious.”

And a third person wrote: “That’s given me the biggest laugh of the weekend.”
