Air Force vet seen in riot with zip ties planned 'to take hostages and perhaps EXECUTE lawmakers,' prosecutor says

AN Air Force veteran seen with zip ties in the US Capitol insurrection planned "to take hostages and perhaps EXECUTE lawmakers," a prosecutor alleged.

The allegations against retired Lt. Col. Larry Rendall Brock Jr., 53, came in a Texas court on Thursday –just more than a week after rioters stormed the US Capitol on January 6 in violent events that left five dead.

“He means to take hostages," Assistant US Attorney Jay Wiemer alleged of Brock, as reported by the Associated Press.

"He means to kidnap, restrain, perhaps try, perhaps execute members of the U.S. government," Weimer accused.

The allegations came as Brock faces charges, including knowingly entering a restricted building or grounds without authority and violent entry or disorderly conduct on the US Capitol, according to the Department of Justice.

Brock was arrested on Sunday after his ex-wife of 18 years called the Feds to report him as she recognized him in footage from the riots.

"When I saw this was happening I was afraid he would be there," she told the FBI's  National Threat Operations Center.

She added: "I think you already know he was there."

Pictures included in court documents show pictures that prosecutors say shows Brock inside the US Capitol building, with "a military-style helmet, tactical vest, and holding flex-cuffs in his right hand."

He was seen with several patches on his combat helmet and body armor, including one bearing a yellow fleur de lis – the insignia of the 706th Fighter Squadron.

Prosecutors said in court docs that a video shared on YouTube from the Capitol riots also shows a man resembling the picture of Brock "walking out of the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi's office."

Brock claimed he found the zip ties on the floor.

“I wish I had not picked those up,” he reportedly told The New Yorker.

Although prosecuting officials wanted Brock kept behind bars, Magistrate Judge Jeffrey L. Cureton ordered he be under home confinement, the AP reported.

He was also ordered to surrender any firearms he has, and allowed limited internet access.

Weimer dubbed Brock "all the more dangerous" due to the fact that he has prior "experience and training."

The FBI is continuing to investigate if some far-right extremists planned to take hostages.

A mother-son duo, Lisa Eisenhart and Eric Munchel, were seen on camera during the riots.

Munchel was spotted in paramilitary gear and apparently holding zip ties, leading some investigators to believe they may have been planning to take members of Congress hostage.

Over 100 people have been arrested in the riots – with more expected to come.

Other arrested include horned QAnon "shaman" Jake Angeli and Nancy Pelosi's "office thief" Adam Johnson.
