Von der Leyen coronavirus fears: EU chief self isolating after contact with positive case

The European Commission President announced she would self-isolate until tomorrow morning in line with local regulations. In a social media post, the top eurocrat said she had tested negative for COVID-19 on Thursday and is due to be tested again later today. Mrs von der Leyen wrote: “I’ve been informed that I participated in a meeting last Tuesday attended by a person who yesterday tested positive for COVID-19.
“In accordance with regulations in force, I’m therefore self-isolating until tomorrow morning.
“I’ve tested negative on Thursday and am tested again today.”
