Mr Bailey explained there was no bad blood between the two while speaking to Nigel Farage on the GB News programme Talking Pints. “Boris is my guy!” he told the former leader of the Brexit party.
In the London Mayoral elections last May, the Conservative candidate came second, losing to Sadiq Khan.
He has been a part of the London Assembly since 2016.
Mr Bailey has said he will use his new role chairing the London Assembly’s police and crime committee to hold the Mayor of London to account.
In June, Mr Bailey said he plans on using his position in the London Assembly in an unbiased way.

“This isn’t about politics. This is about holding the mayor to account,” he said, according to the Evening Standard.
“I want to be clear: This isn’t about saving money. This is about maximising impact.”
On Saturday, he sat down with the former Brexit party and UK Independence Party leader to speak about the lost mayoral election in May.
“I met you before. I liked you. I think you stood for some very good principles,” Mr Farage told the former mayoral candidate.

“You don’t want us to be divided up into different groups. You want us to come together as one community.
“When the final votes came through, after the second-preferences, there you were at 45 percent. It was a hell of a good performance.
“You had your friends and supporters around you, but why did the Conservative party not help you?”
To which Mr Bailey responded: “Fortunately for me, Boris is my guy.”
At the beginning of the summer, the Conservative candidate revealed the Prime Minister asked him to consider running again.
“He rang me on the night [and said] ‘Commiserations, I hope you don’t feel too badly, go and have a break with your family, come back and see me,’” Mr Bailey said, according to the Evening Standard.
“He asked: ‘You did such a good job, surely you will think about standing again?’”
