Sajid Javid spoke briefly with a Talk Radio journalist about the Keir Starmer mob attack. The attack took place when Sir Keir Starmer the labour opposition leader and David Lamy were on their way from an event back to the House of Commons. Many MP’s from either side of the political spectrum have come forward to slam the Prime Minister over his Jimmy Savile slurs which he aimed at Sir Keir Starmer when he accused him of failing to prosecute the notorious paedophile. Mr Javid condemned the attack on the Labour opposition leader as disgraceful, all whilst a heckler continued to ask him multiple times, why the Prime Minister had not apologised for the statements made against Sir Keir Starmer.

Mr Javid said: “Well I saw those scenes yesterday of Keir Starmer and David Lamy.

“And I think first of all, what happened to them was completely unacceptable, disgraceful really in every way.

“And no politician in our country doesn’t matter who they are, should have to put up with anything like that.”

The heckler said: “Why isn’t Boris apologising?”

Trying to ignore the male heckler shouting out of the frame of the camera, Mr Javid continued: “I do think when you look at what happened itself that people are to blame are the protestors themselves…”

The heckler shouted even louder: “Why isn’t Boris apologising for his remarks? Mr Javid, why isn’t Boris apologising for his remarks in Parliament?

“Mr Javid?”

The journalist asking Mr Javid the questions asked him if he had anything to say to what the heckler was asking him, and Mr Javid denied to give a response and left.

PMQs: Keir Starmer grills Boris Johnson on crime and fraud

Prime Minister Boris johnson sparked fury over his comments in the Commons: “The report does absolutely nothing to substantiate the issue of nonsense that he has said. Absolute nonsense.

“Instead, this leader of the opposition, a former director of public prosecution, who used his time prosecuting journalists and failing to prosecute Jimmy Savile, as far as I can see, he chose to use this moment to continually pre-judge a police inquiry.

“He has reached his conclusions about it. I am not going to reach any conclusions and he would be entirely wrong to do so.

The mob attack has been taken seriously by police, a statement by the Met Police said: “Shortly after 5.10 pm on Monday, February 7, a man who had been surrounded by a group of protesters near to New Scotland Yard, was taken away from the scene by a police car.

“A man and a woman were arrested at the scene for assault of an emergency worker after a traffic cone was thrown at a police officer.

“They have been taken into custody.”
