Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has been in office for just over six weeks and has already U-turned on several major pledges made during his Tory leadership campaign. If an election were held tomorrow, who would you vote for? Vote in our poll.

Mr Sunak still enjoys a 60-plus majority in the House of Commons from former Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s general election win three years ago, but has shown he is not averse to ripping up commitments from housing targets to wind farms. The Prime Minister’s press secretary said: “On the campaign pledges we’re reviewing all of them and ensuring the right decisions are made at the right time.”

Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer has been critical of Mr Sunak’s leadership during recent Prime Minister’s Questions sessions, tearing apart his vulnerabilities. One Labour source called Mr Sunak a “directionless leader in an incredibly weak position”.

Meanwhile, a Liberal Democrat MP said that many local voters, including former Tories, felt that Mr Sunak was a steadier leader than Liz Truss but that the Party was still on the downturn. He said: “The view is that he’s a continuity Tory. One local Tory member actually emailed to say that for the good of the country the party needs some time in opposition.”

The latest YouGov/Times voting intention poll from December 6-7 puts the Conservative Party on 24 percent of the vote compared to Labour’s 48 percent, while the Liberal Democrats have nine percent, the Green Party six percent and Reform UK have eight percent.

So what do YOU think? If there was an election tomorrow who would you vote for? Vote in our poll and leave your thoughts in the comment section below.
